Well, you should know, photographers needs a really good sense to shoot pictures in situations like those. People love to take pictures in the happy times, but we don't keep a record for the sad ones.
I just wonder about your camera settings, since is not being published... The whites/blacks are perfect!

Powerful image. I didn't know you were looking for a new direction, I rather like what you're doing already, but this photo is very beautiful in its sadness. Excellent shot. And did you notice the head stone in the bottom left corner? That was the sadest part for me.

Very interesting shot, we westerners have a tendancy to hide death. The good thing about using digital camera's, is that you can push yourself and try new ideas, angles and subjects, without having to worry about wasting film. You just delete.
